Nigel Wright is delighted to be partnering with an established UK-based business, part of a wider international group, to recruit a Customer Service Manager for a key North East site.
This is an opportunity to join a well-regarded organisation known for its strong customer relationships and consistently high service levels. The role offers the chance to lead a critical function within a fast-paced, customer-focused environment, supporting a portfolio of blue-chip clients with complex service requirements.

Location: Sunderland (Hybrid – c.3 days office / 2 days WFH)



The Role
Reporting to the Supply Chain Director, you will lead and develop an established and experienced customer service function. You will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of excellent service while maintaining strong internal and external relationships.
Key responsibilities will include:*Leading, coaching and developing a customer service team to deliver consistently high standards
*Managing escalated customer queries and ensuring effective, timely resolution
*Working closely with internal teams to ensure customer requirements are met in line with agreed targets
*Building strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders
*Supporting service performance through effective communication, organisation and team leadership
*Leading regular team and cross-functional meetings to maintain alignment and service delivery focus
*Contributing to a culture of continuous improvement within the team


About you:
We are looking for a confident, customer-focused leader with a strong track record in managing teams within operational or service-led environments.
Key requirements:*Proven experience in a team leadership or management role
*Experience delivering high levels of customer service in a fast-paced environment, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
*Strong people management and coaching capability
*Commercial awareness and understanding of customer requirements
*Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels
*Proactive, organised and detail-oriented approach to managing workload and priorities
*Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across teams internally and externally.
