Long Term Futures is seeking a flexible and committed Specialist Teaching Support practitioner to join a SEND setting in South Birmingham, working with both primary and secondary-aged pupils with Autism. This is a highly rewarding role suited to someone who thrives in a varied environment and is passionate about delivering individualised support.

This position involves providing 1:1 support; however, you will work with different pupils on a rotating basis rather than being assigned to one individual. This approach helps to promote independence and prevents over-reliance on a single member of staff.

About the Role
Working in partnership with class teachers, the SENCo, and other professionals, your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
* Delivering tailored 1:1 support to pupils with Autism across primary and secondary age groups
* Working with a variety of pupils throughout the week to encourage independence and adaptability
* Supporting students in lessons and within structured breakout settings
* Assisting with personalised learning tasks linked to EHCP targets
* Supporting emotional regulation, communication, and daily transitions
* Monitoring progress and behaviour, feeding back to relevant staff
* Promoting confidence, engagement, and positive social interaction
* Working collaboratively with staff to implement consistent support strategies

Ideal Candidate Profile
* Experience working with children or young people with Autism
* Comfortable supporting both primary and secondary-aged pupils
* Adaptable and confident building relationships quickly with different students
* Calm, patient, and resilient within a SEND environment
* Able to maintain clear and consistent boundaries while remaining supportive
* Must hold a valid UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle (essential)
* Reliable and committed to a long-term role

Why Work with Long Term Futures?
* Long-term opportunities offering both stability and variety
* Weekly pay through a simple and efficient digital system
* Free CPD opportunities, including Autism Awareness, Behaviour Management, and Positive Handling
* Ongoing support from a dedicated consultant throughout your placement
