The RoleThe successful candidate will be responsible for the fabrication, assembly and welding of structural steel components used within a wide range of construction and infrastructure projects.
Working from engineering drawings, you will transform raw steel materials into accurate, high-quality structural elements in line with project specifications and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities*Read and interpret technical and engineering drawings
*Fabricate and assemble structural steel components including:
*UB’s
*UC’s
*PFC’s
*CHS’s
*Carry out cutting, grinding and welding duties
*Operate fabrication machinery, hand tools and measuring equipment safely and effectively
*Ensure fabricated work meets dimensional and quality standards
*Operate overhead cranes and lifting equipment
*Maintain a safe and tidy working environment
*Work closely with supervisors and production teams to meet deadlines
*Adhere to all health & safety procedures and PPE requirements
Skills & Experience Required*Previous experience within structural steel fabrication
*Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
*Welding and metal fabrication experience
*Strong attention to detail and quality
*Good understanding of workshop health & safety
*Reliable, punctual and hard-working attitude
*Ability to work effectively within a team
*Fabrication/Welding qualifications are advantageous but not essential
