Job Description:
Full job descriptionWe are currently seeking for a purchase ledger clerk to join a friendly finance team for a business in York on a 6 month fixed term contract basis. The company has a well-respected and trusted reputation and is a fast growing business.
About this role
*Paying invoices and credit notes in accordance with payment terms, also clearing debit balances and applying payments to invoices.
*Approving invoices.
*Ensure new and existing supplier accounts are set up correctly.
*Undertake appropriate supplier statement reconciliation.
*Process colleagues’ expenses and mileage claim and ensure payment in accordance with SLA.
*Ensure invoices are coded to the correct nominal ledger codes, cost centres and departments.
*Dealing with supplier’s enquiries, while supporting the purchase ledger manager to achieve the business goals and objectives.

*Ability to work on own initiative and under pressure
*Excellent organisational and communication skills
*Relevant experience in a purchase ledger role
*High level Microsoft office packages and accounting packages
