Sharp Consultancy are delighted to be partnering with a well-established engineering and manufacturing business in Sheffield as they look to recruit a Management Accountant to strengthen their finance team.


This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on finance professional looking to join a fast-paced and growing organisation, offering exposure across the wider business alongside genuine opportunities for progression.


The Role
Reporting directly into the Financial Controller, the Management Accountant will play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting and supporting operational decision making across the business.
Key responsibilities will include:
*Preparation of monthly management accounts and supporting commentary.
*Accruals, prepayments, journals, and balance sheet reconciliations.
*Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes across multiple departments.
*Producing variance analysis and investigating key business trends.
*Working closely with operational and production teams to provide financial insight.
*Monitoring stock, labour, and manufacturing costs within the business.
*Supporting month-end and year-end close processes.
*Assisting with continuous improvement projects and process efficiencies across finance.
*Supporting audit preparation and statutory reporting requirements where required.
The successful candidate will ideally:
*Be ACCA / CIMA qualified, part-qualified, or qualified by experience.
*Have previous experience within management accounts in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
*Be organised, detail-oriented, and commercially aware.
*Have excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
*Be proactive with a positive and adaptable approach to work.
