Full job descriptionWe are looking for an experienced and customer-focused Lettings Officer to join the Allocations and Temporary Accommodation Service. In this role, you will support the day-to-day management of the Choice Based Lettings system, handling the efficient letting and pre-letting of Council and Housing Association properties, processing nominations to Housing Associations and Special Schemes, and providing housing advice to residents. You will also assess housing applications, verify applicant information, respond to enquiries and casework, maintain accurate records using Council IT systems, and work closely with internal departments and external agencies to help deliver an effective housing service.
The successful candidate will have experience within housing allocations, lettings, homelessness, or a similar housing environment, along with strong communication, organisational, and customer service skills. You should be confident managing sensitive cases, preparing reports, handling appeals processes, and working both independently and as part of a busy team.
