Location: Ryde, Isle of Wight
Salary: £50,000 – £56,000 per annum
Contract: 3-Month Contract (Potential Extension)
Hours: Monday–Thursday 8:30am–5:00pm | Friday 8:30am–1:00pm
Pertemps Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced HSE Manager to join a busy manufacturing site based in Ryde.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on Health, Safety & Environmental professional looking for an immediate contract role, with the possibility of extension beyond the initial 3 months.
The Role
Reporting to the General Manager, you will take full responsibility for Health, Safety and Environmental activities across the site, ensuring compliance, promoting a strong safety culture, and driving continuous improvement.
Key duties include:
*Managing and maintaining HSE systems and procedures
*Ensuring compliance with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards
*Leading accident, incident and near-miss investigations
*Carrying out risk assessments and supporting audits
*Promoting safe working practices across the business
*Supporting environmental compliance, waste control and energy management
*Producing HSE reports and KPI data
*Acting as the main contact for external HSE bodies and inspections
*Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the site
About You
The ideal candidate will have previous HSE experience within a manufacturing environment and be confident working in a standalone role.
You will ideally have:
*NEBOSH Certificate qualification minimum
*Manufacturing or industrial experience
*Good understanding of UK HSE legislation
*Experience with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards
*Strong communication and organisational skills
*The ability to influence and engage employees at all levels
*Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office
Environmental qualifications or further NEBOSH study would be beneficial but not essential.
