Precision Engineering Business | North East
A growing engineering group with multiple specialist divisions is looking to appoint an experienced Estimator with a strong CNC machining background to support increasing demand and a strong pipeline of new work.
With continued growth across industrial, energy and emerging high-performance sectors, the business is currently at capacity when it comes to quoting new opportunities. This is a key hire to unlock further growth, improve responsiveness to customers, and support diversification into new markets.
What you’ll do
*Produce accurate and timely quotes for CNC machined, precision-engineered components
*Manage a growing backlog of enquiries and support increased quoting demand
*Work closely with operations and production teams to assess feasibility, machining methods and lead times
*Support the business in diversifying its customer base and product offering
*Engage with customers across sectors including energy, industrial and high-performance engineering
*Contribute to continuous improvement in estimating processes and systems
What we’re looking for
*Strong CNC machining background (essential)
*Minimum 2+ years’ experience in an estimating role within precision engineering or manufacturing
*Strong understanding of machining processes, materials and component complexity
*Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
*Highly organised with strong attention to detail
*Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities
*Proactive and able to work collaboratively with operations and commercial teams
