Norwich
Working with a successful, well-established Firm of Accountants as an Audit Associate, you will support audit engagements by performing assigned tasks, including testing financial data, gathering evidence, and documenting findings. You will work under the supervision of seniors, learning audit procedures and ensuring compliance with standards.
The role:
*Managing smaller assignments with support from your manager, gradually taking ownership of your own portfolio
*Supporting seniors on larger and more complex engagements
*Playing a key role in delivering accurate, efficient audit fieldwork — including substantive and analytical procedures
*Preparing statutory financial statements from client data and flagging key risks
*Ensuring audit files are fully and appropriately documented for review
*Planning, executing, and finalising audit assignments for senior sign-off
*Building strong, long-term client relationships and getting involved in local networking activity
The person:
*Confident in taking responsibility for audit sections under senior supervision
*Strong understanding of process flows, double entry, audit assertions and standard testing
*Working knowledge of IFRS/UK GAAP and auditing standards
*Experience coaching and supporting junior team members
*Studying towards ACA/ACCA/AAT, or qualified by experience
*Minimum 2 years’ audit experience within a UK accountancy practice
*Exposure to a variety of client sectors
*Someone who enjoys taking initiative, learning on the job, and growing their client-facing confidence
To apply, please submit your CV or contact Caroline Meeson at Pure.
