Job Description:
Full job descriptionA growing and purpose led organisation based in Sheffield is seeking an ambitious Finance Manager to join its senior finance leadership team.
Reporting directly to the Group Financial Controller, this is a broad and hands on role with responsibility for leading the day-to-day finance function, ensuring strong financial control, delivering accurate and insightful reporting, and driving continuous improvement across finance operations.
In addition to core financial control responsibilities, the role offers a strong commercial dimension, partnering with stakeholders across the business to support performance analysis, improve operational efficiency, and provide meaningful insight into business profitability and strategic decision-making.
This opportunity would suit a qualified finance professional who enjoys operating in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and is looking to combine operational finance leadership with commercially focused business partnering.
Key responsibilities include:
*Full ownership of the finance function on a day-to-day basis
*Monitor financial performance against budget
*Provide detailed variance analysis across performance, costs, and profitability
*Balance sheet reconciliations
*Budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
*Management of month-end and year-end processes
*Cash flow management
*Management and development of transactional finance processes including AP, AR, payroll, and bank reconciliations
*Driving finance process improvements and systems efficiencies
*Providing financial insight and support to operational stakeholders
*Supporting the company Director on strategic finance projects
About You:
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong technical finance capability alongside a proactive and commercially minded approach.
Requirements include:
*ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualified or qualified by experience
*Previous experience in a Finance Manager or senior management accounts role
*Confident communicator with the ability to work across operational teams
*Strong Excel and finance systems capability
*Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of the finance function
*Experience within SME environments would be advantageous
