If so, Randstad Education wants to hear from you. We are currently recruiting a dedicated and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant for a rewarding position starting in September 2026. Based at a fantastic specialist school site in the Boston Spa area, this full-time role is on a long-term basis, with the genuine potential to lead to a permanent contract.
*Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday (Term-time only)
*Start Date: September 2026
*Location: Boston Spa Area (Specialist School Environment)

Skills Required*Strong interpersonal skills and an intuitive approach to supporting children with hearing impairments or complex speech and language needs.
*The ability to modify classroom instructions and learning resources dynamically to match individual cognitive and developmental levels.
*A warm, encouraging nature capable of building trusting relationships with younger pupils to boost their confidence.
*A calm, professional approach when helping students navigate frustrating communication or learning barriers.
Job Responsibilities*Providing 1:1 and small group support to school-aged pupils, helping them fully engage with the curriculum and classroom activities.
*Assisting the class teacher in adapting learning resources and managing the classroom environment to ensure it is safe and highly supportive.
*Helping students develop their social skills, emotional regulation, and communication independence during lessons and break times.
*Monitoring and recording small-step progress, ensuring all pastoral and safeguarding protocols are strictly followed.
Essential Requirements*Full eligibility to work in the UK (visa sponsorship is not available).
*An enhanced DBS on the update service, or a willingness to undergo a new check via Randstad.
*Previous experience working with children with special educational needs within the UK (sensory impairments or communication difficulties are highly desirable).
