Full job descriptionAssistant Accountant - Sheffield | Temporary to Permanent |Office based

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join this finance team based in Sheffield. This role is initially on a temporary basis with a view to becoming permanent. The role will offer career progression for someone to step up and manage a small finance team based in Sheffield.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Finance Director to support day-to-day accounting operations. You will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with month-end processes, and ensuring the smooth running of core finance activities.

Key Responsibilities:
*Assisting with preparation of monthly management accounts
*Processing invoices, payments, and expense claims
*Maintaining accurate ledgers and supporting reconciliations
*Assisting with VAT returns and other statutory submissions
*Supporting budgeting and forecasting activities
*Liaising with internal teams and external stakeholders as required
*Providing general administrative and financial support to the wider team
Skills & Experience:
*Previous experience in an accounting or finance support role
*Strong numerical and analytical skills
*Excellent attention to detail and organisational ability
*Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel and Sage
*40 hours a week, Monday to Friday, in the office.
*Free on site parking
