Full job descriptionPermanent - School Site ManagerAre you an experienced facilities or maintenance professional looking for a secure, permanent role within a thriving educational environment? If so, Randstad Education wants to hear from you. We are currently recruiting a dedicated, practical, and highly organised Site Manager for a permanent vacancy at a fantastic academy in the local area. This full-time role is an immediate start for the right candidate.
*Contract: Permanent, Full-time (37 hours per week)
*Salary: £30,000 - £34,000 per annum
*Start Date: ASAP
*Shift Patterns: Variable between early opening and late closing shifts (the school actively avoids split shifts wherever possible)

The school boasts modern facilities and caters to a wide age range, including a vibrant sixth form provision supporting young adults aged 18 and 19. They pride themselves on maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming campus, driven by a collaborative support team that keeps the daily operations running seamlessly.
Skills Required*Proven experience in building maintenance, health and safety compliance, and managing external contractors.
*Strong practical skills to oversee routine maintenance, minor repairs, and compliance checks (such as fire alarms and legionella monitoring).
*The ability to think on your feet, react quickly to site emergencies, and manage competing priorities.
*Excellent interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with school leadership, teaching staff, students, and visitors.
Job Responsibilities*Taking responsibility for the overall security, cleanliness, and maintenance of the school buildings and grounds.
*Managing the opening and closing routines of the site, ensuring the campus is safe and secure for students, including the older sixth form cohorts.
*Carrying out regular health and safety checks, maintaining accurate compliance records, and reporting any defects.
*Overseeing cleaning teams or external contractors to ensure all maintenance work is completed to a high standard, within budget, and in line with safeguarding protocols.
Essential Requirements*You must possess at least 5 GCSEs at grades A-C (or equivalent), which must include both Mathematics and English.
*A current Enhanced DBS check covering both children and adults is mandatory due to the presence of sixth form students aged 18 and 19, or willingness to complete one through Randstad
*Full eligibility to work in the UK (visa sponsorship is not available).
