Full job description
Cedar is supporting a large PE backed business in their search for an outstanding Group Financial Controller. You will work closely with the CFO during a key period of transformation, operational improvement, and value creation. This is a critical senior leadership role with responsibility for group and operational finance, reporting and controls. The role requires far more than technical excellence, where the successful candidate will be expected to lead, develop and elevate the capability of the wider finance function while acting as a key strategic partner to the CFO and executive team.
The business is looking for a high calibre finance leader from a large listed or complex corporate environment who can bring both credibility and strong operational leadership into a dynamic, fast-paced PE setting.
Key requirements:
*Proven experience operating as a Group Financial Controller within a large listed, multinational or similarly complex business
*Strong leadership capability with experience managing and developing sizeable, multi-layered finance teams
*A track record of building high-performing finance functions, improving accountability, and developing future leadership talent
*Experience driving finance transformation, embedding best-in-class controls, and enhancing reporting quality and governance
*Ability to professionalise processes, strengthen financial discipline, and improve operational efficiency across the finance organisation
*Gravitas and confidence operating at Board, Audit Committee, and investor level
*Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior executives and PE investors
*Experience operating in performance-driven, change-oriented environments with high expectations around delivery and pace
*A proactive and commercially minded approach, with the ability to balance strategic leadership and hands-on execution
The role would suit an ambitious and highly capable finance leader currently operating within a FTSE, multinational, or large cap listed environment seeking a broader leadership mandate and the opportunity to play a meaningful role in a major value creation journey.
