Description
*Prepare and maintain financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
*Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, including variance analysis.
*Support the budgeting and forecasting processes within the organisation.
*Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
*Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate financial reporting.
*Provide support for audits and liaise with external auditors as necessary.
*Monitor and review financial data to identify trends and insights.
*Assist with ad hoc financial projects and tasks as required by the Accounting & Finance team.
Profile
A successful Assistant Accountant should have:
*Proven experience in a similar accounting or finance role within the retail industry.
*A strong understanding of financial principles and accounting practices.
*Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
*Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
*An analytical mindset with a focus on accuracy and problem-solving.
*A relevant accounting qualification or working towards one (e.g., AAT, ACCA, CIMA).
*Strong communication skills to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
