Contract: Permanent
Academics are currently supporting a well-regarded secondary school in Hoddesdon in their search for a passionate and dedicated Performing Arts Teacher to join their creative arts faculty from September 2026. The school is seeking a dynamic practitioner who can inspire students across Drama and Performing Arts, fostering creativity, confidence, and a lifelong appreciation for the arts.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive and forward-thinking school community with a strong commitment to enrichment, student engagement, and high-quality teaching and learning.
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and inclusive Performing Arts lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to teach KS5 depending on experience. You will be expected to contribute to the wider Performing Arts department, supporting school productions, showcases, and enrichment activities.
Key responsibilities include:
*Planning and delivering high-quality lessons in Drama and Performing Arts
*Inspiring students of all abilities to develop confidence, creativity, and performance skills
*Contributing to curriculum development within the Performing Arts faculty
*Assessing, monitoring, and tracking student progress effectively
*Supporting extra-curricular activities, including rehearsals, productions, and performances
*Promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a committed and creative teacher who:
*Holds QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent
*Has experience teaching Drama and/or Performing Arts at secondary level
*Demonstrates strong classroom management and communication skills
*Has a genuine passion for creative education and student development
*Is willing to contribute to the wider life of the school, including productions and events
*Can motivate and engage learners of all abilities
