Full job descriptionIBA Technician – £ – Broking Platform (Acturis) – Hybrid; one day in City HQ


The IBA Technician is responsible for the day-to-day management of underwriter cash, ledgers and bureau settlements within our client’s London operation. The role ensures that premiums and claims monies are matched, allocated and released to the Lloyd’s bureau and company markets accurately and on time, and that JCG remains fully compliant with trust account and underwriter agreement requirements. The successful candidate will combine strong financial discipline with the communication skills needed to resolve queries directly with underwriters and to support brokers across the business.


Key Responsibilities:


*Match underwriter funds, including claims collected, and pay underwriters in line with agreed settlement terms.
*Release entries to the bureau through delinking from the daily paid report.
*Maintain and reconcile underwriter ledgers, including legacy UW entries.
*Allocate incoming claims cash and collect claim payments from insurers.
*Issue monthly statements to underwriters, seek agreement for payment and update the monthly report.
*Respond to underwriter queries on statements and outstanding premiums, prioritising Notices of Cancellation (NOCs).
*Review unmatched cash on UW accounts and work proactively to clear it down.
*Review funded items to ensure nothing is funded outside the agreed process.
*Review held funds for underwriters and ensure payments are released on the agreed weekly or monthly cycle.
*Verify UW bank details, file confirmations to SharePoint, and maintain records in Global XB.
*Check that UW receipts are coming in from the correct UW accounts and flag exceptions.
*File daily payments, receipts and underwriter correspondence.
*Run month-end reports on Acturis and contribute to month-end close.


Key Requirements / Skills / Expertise:


*Minimum 2 years’ experience in an IBA, credit control or insurance accounting role within the Lloyd’s or London Market.
*Working knowledge of mainstream broking platform/s (Acturis ideal) and bureau processes including delinking.
*A natural inclination toward financial detail and accuracy, with the discipline to meet recurring deadlines.
*Strong reconciliation skills and confidence working with unmatched cash, funding and aged debt reports.
*Intermediate Excel skills, including the ability to manipulate and analyse ledger and reporting data.
*Clear, professional communication style for dealing with underwriters, brokers and internal producers.
*Organised self-starter who can prioritise competing tasks calmly and work well both independently and within a small team.


Our client operate a hybrid model with at least one day per week in the London office (City).
