Full job descriptionWe are pleased to be recruiting on behalf of a company based in Ipswich who are looking for a Desktop Engineer to join their team. You will be responsible for applying technical expertise, industry knowledge and commercial opinion to assess vehicle damage.


Key Duties:
*Assess vehicle damage via images, estimates and reports.
*Ensure accurate repair outcomes in line with manufacture guidelines.
*Negotiate repair costs and settlements with stakeholders.
*Assess vehicle damage using images, engineer reports, and repair estimates
*Resolve repair viability or total loss outcomes using technical and engineering judgement
*Recognise appropriate repair methods in line with manufacturer guidelines and industry standards
*Review repair estimates and challenged excessive or unnecessary costs.
*Negotiate repair costs and claim settlements with repairers, engineers, and other stakeholders.


Previous Skills & Experience:
*Strong understanding of vehicle repair methods and damage assessment procedures.
*Experienced in using industry estimating systems.
*Strong commercial awareness with a focus on cost control.
*Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
*Strong numeracy, analytical, and reporting capabilities.
