The OpportunityI am currently partnering with a true innovator in the high-performance automotive and motorsport sectors. Based in the engineering hub of Milton Keynes, our client is pushing the absolute boundaries of electric vehicle (EV) technology.
The company design and manufacture cutting-edge powertrain solutions that support a range of industries including automotive, defence and aerospace. You will be joining to re-inforce their electronics team and support in the development of existing and greenfield projects in some of the most exciting and advanced sectors.
The RoleAs a Power Electronics Design Engineer, you will own the design and development of power electronic circuitry and sub-components across the entire product development lifecycle. You will be working on cutting-edge systems with working voltages up to 1000V and power ratings exceeding 150kW.
Your Key Responsibilities:

*Component Selection: Specify and select critical components, including Power Modules, DC Link Capacitors, and Gate Drivers.
*Simulate & Verify: Execute circuit simulations and drive the verification and testing processes for power electronics devices.
*Collaboration: Capture specifications and requirements in line with industry standards, and actively support design reviews for electronics and software projects.
*Lifecycle Management: Prepare Bill of Materials (BOM), component specifications, and engineering drawings.
*Problem Solving: Investigate and resolve development, launch, and ongoing quality issues, maintaining detailed design records and implementing engineering changes where required.

*Quality & Safety: Experience with failure mode avoidance tools (DFMEA, FTA) and delivering tolerance and lifetime calculations.
*Logistics: A professional communication style, a full clean UK driving license, and a willingness to occasionally travel to client sites.
Desirable (The "Nice-to-Haves"):*A relevant Master’s degree.
*Hands-on experience with Altium Designer, LTSPICE, or PSIM.
