Location: Buntingford
Pay: £14.00 per hour + overtime at £21.00 per hour (time and a half)
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Start: Immediate start
Shifts: Rotating early/late


We’re recruiting an experienced Production Assembly Technician (Mechanical) to join a busy production team in Buntingford. This is a stable temp-to-perm opportunity offering consistent weekday hours, paid overtime, a late shift premium, and training/development.


Shift pattern (rotating)
*Early shift: 07:30 - 16:00
*Late shift: 13:00 - 22:00 (to be introduced shortly)
You will start on the early shift initially, then rotate early/late once the late shift is introduced. A shift premium of £1.50 per houris paid for hours worked after 16:00 on the late shift.


Key responsibilities
*Assemble mechanical components and sub-assemblies accurately to specification
*Read and interpret assembly drawings, work instructions, and bills of materials (BOMs)
*Use hand tools, power tools, and basic measuring equipment
*Carry out quality checks to ensure tolerance and finish requirements are met
*Report non-conformances and support corrective actions
*Complete assembly records/paperwork as required
*Follow H&S procedures and maintain a tidy work area


Requirements
*Previous experience in mechanical assembly (or similar manufacturing/assembly role)
*Able to read basic engineering drawings and follow written instructions
*Strong mechanical aptitude and good manual dexterity
*Reliable/punctual and able to work rotating early and late shifts
*Comfortable standing for long periods and doing light to moderate lifting
*Good communication skills and a team-focused approach
