Are you an experienced tutor, teaching assistant, learning mentor, support worker, youth worker, or education professional with experience supporting children and young people with Autism and ADHD?
New Chapter Tuition is recruiting Experienced SEN Tutors to provide personalised 1:1 tuition and support for learners aged 5–25 across South East London.
This rewarding role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting neurodivergent learners and helping young people overcome barriers to education through relationship-led, personalised support.
About the Role
You will work with children and young people who may be accessing alternative provision, EOTAS packages, elective home education, or additional support due to Autism (ASC), ADHD, anxiety, school avoidance, and associated learning needs.
Every learner is unique, and our tutors play a vital role in helping learners build confidence, develop independence, improve engagement, and achieve positive educational outcomes.
Learners May Present With:
• Autism (ASC)
• ADHD
• SEMH needs
• Speech, Language and Communication Needs
• Anxiety and EBSA
• Dyslexia and specific learning difficulties
• EHCP-linked needs
• Alternative Provision and EOTAS pathways
What You’ll Be Doing
• Delivering personalised 1:1 tuition and support sessions
• Supporting learners with Autism and ADHD
• Adapting learning approaches to individual needs and strengths
• Building positive and trusting relationships with learners
• Supporting confidence, emotional regulation, organisation, and engagement
• Delivering academic support where appropriate
• Completing session reports and progress updates
• Working collaboratively with families and professionals
Where Support Takes Place
• Learners’ homes
• Libraries
• Community venues
What We’re Looking For
• Minimum 1 year of experience supporting children or young people with Autism and/or ADHD
• Experience within tutoring, education, mentoring, youth work, support work, care, or similar settings
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• A patient, flexible, and nurturing approach
• Understanding of neurodiversity-affirming practice
• Enhanced DBS (Update Service preferred) or willingness to obtain one
• Right to work in the UK
