Job Description:
Full job descriptionCorporate Finance Associate Director
Location: London
Working pattern: Hybrid, 3 days in the office / 2 days from home
Employment type: Permanent, full time
You’re not looking for "some exposure" to deals anymore. You want to run them properly.
At this level, you’ve probably had enough of job adverts that say "transaction exposure" and then turn out to mean sitting in the background updating slides, chasing data and waiting for someone else to make the decisions.
This role is different.
You’ll be joining a Corporate Finance team that works with privately owned, owner-managed and small to mid-market listed companies, typically on transactions between £1 million and £50 million. The work includes both domestic and cross-border projects, so there is enough variety to keep things interesting without pushing you miles away from the clients and business owners behind the deal.
You’ll report directly to a Director or Partner and be trusted to run the delivery of client assignments from start to finish, making sure the work is sharp, commercial, accurate and delivered on time.
The work is mid-market, hands-on and close to the client
The firm’s Corporate Finance team provides advisory and transaction support to a wide range of businesses, from owner-managed companies through to listed businesses. Its London office also offers lead advisory and transaction support to privately owned and owner-managed businesses, alongside wider services across audit, tax, restructuring, valuations and business advisory.
It means you are not working in a tiny deals team with no internal support around you. You’ll be able to draw on colleagues across the firm where needed, while still staying close to the transaction and the client relationship.
The Corporate Finance team also publishes recent transaction snapshots across different sectors and markets, including financial and tax due diligence, advisory work and lending-related support, which gives a useful sense of the variety around the team.
What you’ll actually be doing
You’ll help run Corporate Finance assignments from start to completion.
That includes reviewing datapacks, reports, Information Memorandums and marketing materials, making sure they are commercially useful and client-ready rather than just technically correct.
You’ll research potential buyers, funders and targets, manage project workflows, monitor progress and keep assignments moving when there are multiple people, deadlines and deliverables involved.
You’ll also liaise with clients, internal teams and external stakeholders, supporting Directors and Partners across live transaction activity.
There is also a business development angle. You’ll attend networking and BD events, which makes this a good role if you want to build more of a market profile rather than stay purely delivery-focused.
What you’ll be trusted with
*Running the delivery of Corporate Finance client assignments
*Supporting transactions from start to completion
*Reviewing datapacks, reports, Information Memorandums and marketing materials
*Researching buyers, funders and targets
*Managing project workflows and tracking progress
*Liaising with clients, internal teams and external stakeholders
*Supporting Directors and Partners on live transaction activity
*Managing multiple projects at once
*Helping make sure work is delivered on time, within budget and to a high standard
*Bringing commercial judgement to client materials and deal analysis
*Attending business development and networking events
*Supporting the continued growth of the Corporate Finance team
The kind of person this will suit
You’ll probably be ACA qualified, or equivalent, with several years’ Corporate Finance experience behind you.
You’ll have managed transactions through to completion before, and you’ll be comfortable working across multiple sectors. You don’t need everything spoon-fed to you, but you also understand when a Director or Partner needs to be brought into the conversation.
The right person will be analytical, detail-focused and commercially aware. That balance matters. The numbers need to be right, but the output also needs to help clients, funders, buyers and business owners make decisions.
You’ll also need to be organised enough to manage several ongoing projects and confident enough to deal with clients and external stakeholders without sounding like you’re reading from a script.
You’ll be a strong fit if you have:
*ACA qualification or equivalent
*Several years’ Corporate Finance experience
*Proven experience managing transactions through to completion
*Experience working across multiple sectors
*Experience managing a team across multiple live projects
*Strong analytical skills
*Excellent attention to detail
*Good commercial judgement
*Confidence reviewing reports, datapacks, Information Memorandums and marketing materials
*Strong project management skills
*Confidence liaising with clients, funders, buyers and other external stakeholders
*An interest in business development and networking
What’s in it for you?
You’ll get more than another delivery role.
You’ll get access to mid-market transactions, client-facing responsibility, direct Director and Partner exposure, and the chance to keep building your profile at Associate Director level.
The firm also promotes agile working, personal growth, wellbeing and flexible benefits, with a careers culture focused on helping people succeed and supporting a balanced working life.
The package includes hybrid working, 27.5 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays, holiday buying, contributory pension, life assurance, health cash plan, income protection, private medical insurance, critical illness insurance, Employee Assistance Programme, counselling support, annual flu jab, discounts and rewards.
There are also family-friendly policies, monthly recognition awards, internal and external training, professional development support, paid volunteering time, charitable giving options, cycle to work and interest-free travel or vehicle loan options where applicable.
