Full job descriptionOur client, a Greater Manchester council is seeking a Children’s Team Manager to join their Referral & Assessment Team

Responsibilities of this role:
*Lead and manage a busy Referral & Assessment Team, ensuring timely and effective decision-making at the front door of children’s services
*Oversee initial contacts, referrals, and safeguarding concerns, ensuring appropriate thresholds and statutory duties are met
*Provide strong leadership, supervision, and support to Social Workers and Senior Practitioners, promoting high standards of practice
*Ensure assessments (including Section 17 and Section 47 enquiries) are completed within statutory timescales and to a high quality
*Drive performance management, monitoring caseloads, quality assurance, and service delivery against key targets and KPIs
*Make informed decisions around risk, safeguarding, and child protection, ensuring the safety and welfare of children is paramount
*Chair strategy discussions, multi-agency meetings, and contribute to child protection conferences where required
*Work collaboratively with partner agencies to ensure effective multi-agency safeguarding responses
*Provide oversight and direction on complex and high-risk cases, supporting staff with clear management guidance and escalation where necessary
*Ensure compliance with statutory legislation, local authority procedures, and Ofsted standards
*Promote a culture of continuous improvement, reflective practice, and professional development within the team
Requirements of this role:
*Must be a Qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England.
*Must have minimum of 3 year’s experience working as a Qualified social worker
