I’m currently partnering with a global leader in healthcare technology to recruit a Procurement Engineer for a 12-month contract based in Oxfordshire.
Pay rate: up to £300 per day
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly innovative business whose products are used worldwide to improve access to life-saving medical imaging.
The Role
As a Procurement Engineer, you will play a key role in shaping sourcing strategies and optimising product costs across a complex, global supply chain. You’ll work closely with engineering, procurement, and suppliers to ensure high-quality, cost-effective components are delivered consistently.
Key Responsibilities
*Lead cost analysis and cost optimisation activities across the product lifecycle
*Deliver value engineering initiatives (should-cost modelling, benchmarking, etc.)
*Support design teams with cost estimates and manufacturing insights
*Collaborate with global suppliers to meet design-to-cost and manufacturability targets
*Support procurement teams during supplier negotiations
*Drive continuous improvement and support digital procurement initiatives
*Build strong relationships with international stakeholders

About You
Experience:
*Background in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or similar
*Experience within procurement, engineering, or supply chain
*Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g. machining, fabrication, assemblies)
*Proven experience in cost analysis and cost optimisation
Skills:
*Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
*Effective communicator with strong stakeholder management skills
*Confident working in cross-functional and international teams
*Proactive, organised, and able to work independently
