Description


*Process weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payrolls for a portfolio of clients/employees
*Manage payroll inputs including starters, leavers, salary changes, bonuses, overtime, and statutory payments
*Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations, including RTI submissions (FPS/EPS)
*Calculate and process statutory payments (SSP, SMP, SPP, etc.)
*Administer pension auto-enrolment, including submissions and employee communications
*Handle payroll queries from clients and employees in a timely and professional manner
*Reconcile payroll reports and ensure accuracy before submission
*Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure data confidentiality at all times
*Work to tight deadlines in a high-volume environment


Profile
A successful candidate should have:


*Minimum 3 years’ payroll experience, ideally within an accountancy practice or bureau
*Proven experience managing high-volume payroll
*Strong working knowledge of BrightPay (or similar payroll software)
*Solid understanding of UK payroll legislation and HMRC requirements
*Experience with pension auto-enrolment schemes
*High attention to detail and accuracy
*Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload
*Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
*Experience working within a payroll bureau or practice environment
*Knowledge of additional systems (e.g., Sage Payroll, Xero Payroll)
*CIPP qualification or working towards
