Full job descriptionOur client, a Greater Manchester council is seeking a Children’s Team Manager to join their Leaving Care Team

Responsibilities of this role:
*Lead and manage a Leaving Care team, supporting young people aged 16–25 as they transition from care to independence
*Oversee the delivery of Pathway Plans, ensuring they are high-quality, person-centred, and regularly reviewed
*Provide strong leadership, supervision, and direction to Personal Advisors and Social Workers, promoting best practice
*Ensure young people receive appropriate support in areas such as accommodation, education, employment, training, and emotional wellbeing
*Drive performance and quality assurance, ensuring statutory duties under the Children (Leaving Care) Act and related legislation are met
*Manage complex cases, providing oversight and decision-making on high-risk or vulnerable young people
*Work collaboratively with partner agencies to support positive outcomes and successful transitions into adulthood
*Chair and contribute to multi-agency meetings, planning forums, and reviews as required
*Ensure effective risk management and safeguarding, particularly for care leavers at risk of exploitation, homelessness, or crisis
*Oversee budgets related to leaving care services, including financial support and setting up home allowances
*Promote a culture of aspiration, independence, and resilience, ensuring young people are supported to achieve their full potential
*Maintain compliance with statutory guidance, local authority policies, and Ofsted standards
Requirements of this role:
*Must be a Qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England.
*Must have minimum of 3 year’s experience working as a Qualified social worker
