Warehouse Transformation Programme Lead Location: Midlands
Type: Interim / FTC | Senior Leadership Role
We’re looking for an experienced Programme Lead to lead the delivery of a major Warehouse Transformation and Automation Programme. This is a high-impact, strategic role responsible for transforming warehousing operations through the implementation of advanced automation and integrated systems.
The RoleYou’ll lead a cross-functional team to deliver end-to-end warehouse transformation - from finalising the plan through to implementation, go-live and benefits realisation. This includes large-scale automation solutions such as AS/RS, shuttles, conveyors, robotics, and WMS/WCS integration.
You’ll be accountable for delivering safe, compliant, and high-performing solutions that significantly improve capacity, efficiency, accuracy, service, and cost performance.
Key Responsibilities*Lead the successful delivery of a multi-million-pound automation programme to time, cost and scope
*Finalise and implement the Warehouse plan, including future-state design and automation roadmap
*Develop robust business cases and secure stakeholder and board approval
*Establish programme governance, manage risks, budgets, and suppliers
*Oversee solution design, supplier selection, and technical delivery
*Ensure seamless go-live with minimal operational disruption
*Drive operational readiness, change management, and capability development
*Deliver measurable business benefits including productivity, accuracy, and cost savings
About You*Proven track record delivering large-scale warehouse automation or transformation programmes in FMCG, food, logistics, or similar environments
*Strong expertise in automated material handling systems (AS/RS, shuttles, conveyors, robotics, AGVs/AMRs, etc.)
*Experience integrating WMS/ERP with WCS/WES and control systems
*Strong commercial and financial acumen, including business case development and CAPEX management
*Exceptional stakeholder leadership across operations, engineering, IT, and suppliers
*Resilient, delivery-focused, and highly collaborative with a strong safety-first mindset
