Job Description:
Full job descriptionTechnical Claims Controller — Hybrid/Remote | UK
A well-established, market-leading loss adjusting business — backed by one of Europe’s largest international claims management groups — is looking for an experienced Technical Claims Controller to join their team on a hybrid/remote basis.
This is a technically demanding role with genuine autonomy. You’ll manage Commercial Property claims end-to-end, make sound coverage decisions, and act as a technical reference point for the wider team. If you’re at your best when working independently on complex, higher-value claims, this is worth a look.
THE ROLE
You’ll be part of a high-performing team managing Commercial Property claims from FNOL through to settlement, including payment management and MI reporting. Day to day you’ll be:
• Managing commercial property claims cradle to grave within delegated authority levels
• Providing technical guidance and taking referrals from the DCA/Desktop team
• Making accurate policy engagement and coverage decisions
• Reviewing technical reports, quotations, and invoices — issuing instructions accordingly
• Maintaining accurate reserves and data throughout the claim lifecycle
• Escalating cases appropriately — repudiations, policy voidance, complaints
• Keeping up to date on client requirements, legal and technical changes, and GDPR compliance
• Ensuring TCF principles and regulatory requirements are upheld at all times
Essential:
• Substantial cradle-to-grave commercial claims experience
• Proven handling of claims above £100k in value
• Strong working knowledge of insurance principles and policy interpretation
• Solid understanding of regulatory compliance
Desirable:
• Previous DCA operations experience
• CII and/or CILA qualification (or working towards)
You’ll be technically confident, commercially aware, and customer-focused. You’re comfortable making decisions under pressure, managing difficult situations with tact, and working independently — while knowing when to escalate or collaborate. A proactive mindset and commitment to continuous development are important.
If you’re technically strong, thrive on complex commercial claims, and you’re ready to take the next step in your claims career — this could be the right move.
