Job Description:
Full job descriptionButler Rose is exclusively recruiting a Senior Payroll Clerk for a well-established organisation based in Yeovil.
This is a fully office-based position, offering an excellent opportunity for an experienced payroll professional to take ownership of high-volume payroll operations within a supportive and stable environment.
Reporting to the Head of Payroll, you will play a key role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of both weekly and monthly payrolls, while supporting and developing a team of Payroll Administrators.
Key responsibilities
*Manage weekly and monthly payrolls end-to-end
*Review and validate payroll inputs, including salaries, benefits and deductions
*Process statutory payments including PAYE, National Insurance and pension contributions
*Maintain accurate employee payroll records and ensure data integrity
*Ensure compliance with payroll legislation and internal policies
*Conduct payroll audits and resolve discrepancies
*Support complex pay structures and timesheet processes
*Respond to payroll queries from employees and stakeholders
*Supervise, coach and develop Payroll Administrators
*Produce payroll reports and support internal stakeholders
About you
*Proven experience in a Senior Payroll or similar role
*Experience managing high-volume payrolls for a minimum of 600 employees
*Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and compliance
*Previous experience supervising or mentoring team members
*Ability to reliably commute to Yeovil
*Confident user of Excel
