*PMO Lead - Transformation Programme
*6 month duration
*Daily Rate: £600 per day (Inside IR35)
*Location: London (hybrid working)
The OpportunityWe are seeking an experienced PMO Lead to lead the Programme Management Office for a large-scale, multi-year Council Transformation Programme. The programme spans multiple workstreams and is designed to deliver over £100m of annual savings alongside fundamental changes to how the organisation operates.
Key Responsibilities
*Lead and continuously improve the PMO function for a complex, multi-workstream transformation programme
*Own programme governance, including servicing senior boards and executive-level forums
*Maintain the integrated programme plan, tracking milestones, dependencies and resources across all workstreams
*Own portfolio-level benefits realisation, working closely with Finance and HR to track cashable and non-cashable savings
*Lead RAID management, ensuring risks, issues and dependencies are identified, managed and escalated appropriately
*Produce high-quality executive reporting for senior leaders and Members
*Lead programme assurance activity, including health checks, gate reviews and external audit support
*Champion a data-led, modern PMO, using digital tools and AI to automate reporting and improve insight
About YouYou will be a confident, credible PMO professional with experience operating at portfolio or enterprise level, ideally within the public sector or a politically led organisation.
Essential experience includes:
*Leading or establishing a PMO for a complex transformation or portfolio
*Strong knowledge of programme and portfolio management methodologies (governance, RAID, benefits, assurance)
*Experience supporting senior governance boards and executive-level stakeholders
*Benefits management experience, including tracking savings against financial strategies
*Excellent analytical and reporting skills, with the ability to translate complexity for senior audiences
*Strong stakeholder management skills, able to influence without direct authority
*Experience using digital PMO tools, dashboards and reporting platforms
