People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in Aston, West Midlands.
This is a fantastic opportunity offering excellent rates of pay, ongoing work and the opportunity to join a reputable and growing logistics operation.
This role would suit candidates with experience as an HGV Class 1 Driver, LGV Class 1 Driver, Category CE Driver, C+E Driver, Tramper Driver or Articulated Lorry Driver.
Shifts
• Monday to Sunday
• 5 days out of 7
Rates of Pay
• Days – £17.50 per hour
• Nights – £18.50 per hour
• Saturday – £20.00 per hour
• Sunday – £21.50 per hour

Day-to-Day Duties
As an HGV Class 1 Driver, your duties will include but not be limited to:
• Completing fridge work with a maximum of three store deliveries per shift
• No handball involved
• Operating and driving Class 1 vehicles safely and efficiently
• Carrying out pre-shift and post-shift vehicle inspections
• Ensuring all loads are secured correctly before transportation
• Adhering to all road traffic laws and transport regulations
• Communicating effectively with transport teams and customers
• Reporting vehicle defects and maintenance requirements promptly
• Supporting loading and unloading duties where required
Essential Skills
To be successful as an HGV Class 1 Driver, you will need:
• A valid UK Category CE Licence
• A minimum of 12 months’ experience driving Category CE vehicles
• No more than six penalty points for minor infringements
• No major endorsement codes
• A valid UK CPC Card and Digital Tachograph Card
• Good spoken and written English
• Excellent timekeeping and reliability
• A good understanding of road traffic laws and driver regulations
• Strong communication skills
Desirable Experience
• Previous commercial driving experience
• Previous multi-drop delivery experience
Training Provided
• Industry-related training provided
• Ongoing support and development throughout your assignment
