Job Description:
Full job descriptionWe are supporting a well-established charity with strong UK and international operations, including subsidiaries in Israel, in the search for a Group Financial Controller. This is a pivotal leadership role within the Finance function, reporting directly to the Finance Director.
A key part of this role involves supporting the Charity’s wider mission and its work connected to Israel, ensuring high-quality financial oversight and reporting across the Group.

Key Responsibilities
*Lead the preparation of monthly management accounts for the Charity Group, including consolidation across UK and Israeli subsidiaries using Xero.
*Oversee Group budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis across all entities.
*Prepare and review statutory accounts and manage the full year-end audit process.
*Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts, including intercompany balances and restricted funds.
*Ensure robust financial controls, policies, and procedures are in place and consistently applied.
*Produce accurate and timely financial reporting, including monthly management accounts and board-level analysis.
*Manage cash flow forecasting, treasury processes, and foreign exchange requirements.
*Act as key contact for auditors, banks, regulators, and external stakeholders.
*Oversee payroll liaison, VAT returns, and regulatory submissions.
*Support system integrity and reporting across Xero, fundraising databases, and internal systems.
*Manage and develop the Finance Officer, providing guidance and leadership.
*Support compliance with Charity Commission, HMRC, Companies House, and other regulatory bodies.
*Provide financial insight and analysis to senior leadership and trustees to support strategic decision-making.
Candidate Requirements
*Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
*Experience working within the charity sector is essential.
*Strong experience preparing Group management accounts and statutory accounts.
*Proven track record of budgeting, forecasting, and year-end audit management.
*Excellent knowledge of charity accounting regulations and compliance requirements.
*Strong working knowledge of Xero is essential.
