We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEND Teacher to join a specialist school, supporting learners across both the primary and secondary age range. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a highly supportive SEND environment, teaching students who are working at Primary and Entry Level curriculum pathways.

Key ResponsibilitiesAs a SEND Teacher, you will:
Plan and Deliver Individualised Learning: Design and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to students working at Primary and Entry Level, adapting learning to meet a wide range of abilities and needs.
Support Academic, Social and Emotional Development: Foster confidence, independence, communication skills, and emotional wellbeing alongside academic progress.
Develop and Implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs): Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, families, and external professionals to set and review personalised learning targets.
Create a Positive Learning Environment: Establish a structured, nurturing classroom where students feel safe, supported, and motivated to learn.
Monitor and Assess Progress: Regularly evaluate student development, adapting teaching approaches and interventions to maximise progress.
Work as Part of a Multi-Disciplinary Team: Collaborate closely with colleagues, therapists, pastoral teams, and support staff to provide holistic support for every learner.
Promote Inclusion and Independence: Encourage students to develop life skills, resilience, and confidence to support their future aspirations.

Qualifications and Skills RequiredTo excel in this role, you will need:
*Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
*Experience teaching students with special educational needs or a strong desire to work within a specialist SEND setting.
*Experience delivering learning at Primary or Entry Level, regardless of student age.
*A sound understanding of adapting learning for students with a range of needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Speech and Language Needs, Learning Difficulties, and Developmental Delays.
*Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
*Creativity, patience, flexibility, and resilience.
*Familiarity with alternative communication methods such as PECS, Makaton, or assistive technology is advantageous.
*A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
