Randstad Education is on the lookout for enthusiastic, adaptable, and qualified Key Stage 1 (KS1) Teachers to join our thriving supply team in Leeds for the upcoming term.
Years 1 and 2 are pivotal times for young pupils as they build up their core reading, writing, and maths skills. As a supply teacher, you get to be the spark that keeps them excited about learning, while enjoying the freedom to choose exactly when and where you work. Your Role in the KS1 Classroom*Deliver Dynamic Lessons: Bring the national curriculum to life for Year 1 and Year 2 pupils, keeping lessons interactive, accessible, and fun.
*Lead Early Literacy & Phonics: Confidently deliver daily phonics sessions (experience with schemes like Read Write Inc., Essential Letters and Sounds, or Little Wandle is highly valued).
*Bridge the Gap: Help children navigate the step up from EYFS continuous provision into more structured classroom learning.
*Positive Behaviour Management: Create a safe, encouraging, and focused learning environment using positive reinforcement.
What You Will Need*Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
*Proven experience teaching within a UK Key Stage 1 setting.
*A strong understanding of early reading strategies and the KS1 curriculum.
*An Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service (or the willingness to apply for a new one through Randstad).
*The right to work in the UK.
