NHS Organisation | Educational Settings (Telford)
Based across two educational establishments ASAP start | 12-week initial contract (likely extension)
We are working in partnership with an NHS organisation to recruit an experienced Band 6 Community Mental Health Nurse (RMN) to support a Children and Young People’s (CYP) mental health service based within educational settings in Telford. This is a rewarding interim opportunity to deliver early intervention, assessment and triage for young people with a range of mental health needs.
Key Responsibilities
· Deliver a high standard of mental health care to children and young people referred into the service
· Act as Shift Coordinator, screening referrals to determine urgency (routine, urgent or crisis)
· Respond to calls from professionals, parents and carers, assessing risk and offering guidance
· Undertake face-to-face urgent and routine mental health assessments
· Present cases within daily MDT outcome meetings and agree appropriate interventions or pathways
· Work within the service operational framework and Thrive Model to support assessment, signposting and discharge
· Complete high-quality, timely clinical documentation in line with service standards
· Demonstrate strong risk assessment and risk management skills when triaging referrals
· Provide supervision and mentorship to junior staff and students
· Contribute to effective multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working to support positive outcomes
Essential Requirements
· Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with active NMC registration
· Minimum 1+ years post-qualification experience within a UK mental health setting
· Experience working with children and young people (CYP) or within CAMHS/community settings
· Strong assessment, triage and risk management skills
· Ability to manage workload effectively and make autonomous clinical decisions
· Experience working within a multi-disciplinary team environment
· Excellent communication skills when working with young people, families and professionals · Commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care
