Health & Safety Controller
£35,000 - £37,000
Role Overview
Seeking a proactive Health & Safety Controller to manage and improve health, safety, and wellbeing systems across manufacturing sites. You’ll ensure legal compliance, reduce risk, and promote a positive safety culture.
Key Responsibilities
*Ensure compliance with the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and UK regulations
*Develop and implement H&S policies and safe systems of work
*Conduct and review risk assessments across sites
*Carry out safety inspections and address hazards
*Promote a strong safety culture and deliver inductions
*Investigate incidents and identify root causes
*Manage PPE, training, and competency requirements
*Oversee emergency procedures, including fire safety
Requirements
Essential:
*NEBOSH General Certificate
*Experience in manufacturing/engineering environments
*Strong knowledge of UK H&S legislation
*Experience with audits, risk assessments, and investigations
*Excellent communication skills
Desirable:
*NEBOSH Diploma
*ISO 45001 auditing experience
*IOSH membership
*Multi-site experience
