Your new role
As a Fabricator - Plater, you will play a key role in the assembly and fabrication of metal components in line with engineering drawings and company standards. You will be responsible for interpreting fabrication and installation drawings, carrying out precise fabrication tasks, and ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality.Your duties will include:
*Reading and interpreting fabrication and installation drawings accurately
*Performing assembly and fabrication tasks using a range of hand tools and techniques
*Maintaining a strong focus on SHE (Safety, Health & Environmental) risk awareness and compliance
*Producing work to required tolerances and quality standards
*Collaborating with supervisors, planners, and other trades to meet production targets
*Supporting apprentices by sharing knowledge and best practices
*Assisting with shop floor problem-solving and adapting to changes in drawings, processes, or technologies
What you’ll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
*Proven experience within a fabrication or plating environment
*Strong understanding of engineering drawings and manufacturing processes
*Excellent practical hand skills and attention to detail
*Solid knowledge of SHE regulations and workplace safety practices
*Good communication and interpersonal skills, with an approachable and reliable attitude
*Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
*A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement
*Willingness to learn, adapt, and embrace new ideas and technologies
*Experience mentoring or coaching apprentices (desirable)
