Salary: £11,818 - £12,030 pro rata, per annum including an allowance for holiday pay (FTE: £29,625per annum)
Vacancy Type: Permanent, 22.5 hours per week, Term Time Only

Wymondham College has over 400 staff dedicated to supporting World Class education. The Chef de Partie will be responsible to the Catering Manager, Executive Chef and Sous Chef for providing kitchen support to the College Catering Department. The post-holder will work as part of an enthusiastic and committed team producing the main meals for the campus.

The personal competencies expected of all College support staff are:
*The ability to communicate clearly and tactfully using appropriate methods and an awareness of the impact of your own communication on others;
*Able to maintain positive relationships with all and able to work as an effective and flexible part of a team; willing to change methods of work and routines to benefit the team;
*Willingness to accept responsibility for your own actions; the ability to prioritise effectively, meet deadlines and accept challenges.
The professional competencies expected of a Chef De Partie are:
*Have excellent organisational skills
*Have good communication skills
*Have excellent people and customer service skills
The qualifications and previous experience required for a Chef De Partie are:
*A good level of literacy and numeracy;
*Have previous experience in a busy kitchen, with an in-depth knowledge of food preparation, production and service;
*Have good oral and written communication skills with the ability to liaise with all staff and students;
*A good knowledge of Health and Safety and Food Hygiene regulations in relation to food preparation, service and storage.
General Responsibilities
*The Chef de Partie will be responsible to the Catering Manager, Executive Chef and Sous Chef for providing kitchen support to the College Catering Department.
*The post-holder will be required to comply with the Wymondham College Code of Conduct for Staff and Volunteers.
*Wymondham College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
*The post-holder will have access to and be responsible for confidential information and documentation so must ensure confidential or sensitive material is handled appropriately and accurately.
*The post-holder shall participate in the College’s programme of performance management and continuing professional development.
*A non-exhaustive list of specific responsibilities for the role is below and you will be required to undertake other duties and responsibilities as may reasonably be required.
Specific Responsibilities
*The production and service of meals and refreshments throughout the school day;
*Catering for all school functions and courses held during the school term and non-term time;
*Monitor stock control, rotation and records;
*Assists in the preparation of college meals;
*Ensures staff and kitchen hygiene requirements are met;
*Ensures Health and Safety at work requirements are met;
*Participate in the College programme of Performance Management and Continuing Professional Development;
*Undertake other duties and responsibilities as the line manager may reasonably require.
