Location: Bedford
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday (shift flexibility may be required)
Are you a detail-focused and hands-on individual with an interest in engineering and product reliability? Join a dynamic product development environment where you will play a key role in ensuring the performance and quality of electronic products through structured testing and analysis.
As a Reliability Test Technician, you will support the product development team by carrying out electrical, thermal, and mechanical reliability testing on new and existing products. You will work closely with engineering teams to ensure accurate testing, data integrity, and high-quality documentation.
Key Responsibilities
Perform daily equipment checks and basic maintenance to ensure correct and safe test operation.
Prepare samples for testing, including marking, board mounting, and preconditioning.
Carry out reliability testing by unloading, testing, and reloading samples within required time limits.
Conduct visual inspections of test samples using microscopes to identify defects.
Design, build, and maintain test boards and fixtures required for testing activities.
Edit and maintain test programs for STi ATE test systems.
Record, update, and maintain test data in Excel and ensure proper file storage.
Manage wafer/sample storage by logging incoming materials and tracking items removed.
Support documentation and reporting of test results where required.
Qualifications and Skills
5 GCSEs at Grade 5 or above, including Maths and English (Science preferred).
Previous cleanroom experience is desirable.
Basic understanding of Health and Safety procedures and PPE requirements.
Experience with soldering and building test fixtures is advantageous.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Good manual dexterity and attention to detail.
Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive and reliable approach.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
