TradeWind Recruitment is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive special needs primary school in Stretford. This is a full-time opportunity to work with pupils who have complex learning needs, helping them to access education, develop independence, and achieve their individual potential.
The school caters for primary-aged pupils with a range of complex needs, including severe learning difficulties (SLD), profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), autism spectrum condition (ASC), and associated communication and sensory needs. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting pupils both in the classroom and through personalised learning activities.
Key Responsibilities:*Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with complex needs.
*Assist with the delivery of tailored learning programmes and interventions.
*Support pupils with communication, social, emotional, and sensory needs.
*Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other professionals.
*Assist with personal care where required.
*Promote a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment.
*Encourage independence, confidence, and engagement in learning.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:*Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs (SEN), particularly complex needs.
*A patient, caring, and resilient approach.
*Strong communication and teamwork skills.
*The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families.
*Experience supporting pupils with autism, SLD, PMLD, or communication difficulties is highly desirable.
*A relevant qualification in education, childcare, health and social care, or SEN support would be advantageous.
