Full job descriptionSchool Caretaker / Stoke-on-Trent / ASAP / Fixed-Term ContractAre you a practical, reliable, and hands-on individual looking for your next opportunity within a school environment?
Academics are currently working with a secondary school in the Stoke-on-Trent area who are seeking a dedicated School Caretaker to join their Site and Facilities Team on a full-time temporary basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with maintenance, caretaking, or handyman experience who enjoys a varied role and takes pride in maintaining a safe and welcoming environment.
The Role*General maintenance and repair tasks across the school site
*Basic plumbing, painting, and DIY work as required
*Setting up rooms and equipment for school events and activities
*Conducting routine site checks and ensuring health and safety standards are maintained
*Opening and securing school buildings as part of the shift rota
*Supporting the wider site team with facilities management duties
Working HoursThis is a full-time position operating on a weekly rotating shift pattern:
*7:00am - 3:00pm
*8:00am - 4:00pm
*10:30am - 6:30pm
The role is expected to last approximately 2-3 months, with an immediate start needed.
Requirements*Have previous caretaking, site management, facilities, maintenance, or handyman experience
*Ideally have previous experience working within a school environment
*Be confident carrying out general repairs and maintenance tasks
*Be flexible and willing to work the rotating shift pattern
*Have a proactive and reliable approach to work
*Ideally already have an Enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service
