Job Description:
Full job descriptionA well-established engineering and services business operating within the commercial heating and cooling sector is seeking an experienced Technical Sales Engineer to support continued growth and operational delivery.
This is a senior, hands-on role combining technical engineering expertise, sales development and project management, working closely with the local Branch Manager and wider operational teams.
The successful candidate will play a key role in identifying new business opportunities, managing customer relationships and overseeing engineering projects from enquiry through to completion. The position offers a high degree of autonomy and responsibility within a stable and professional environment.
Key Responsibilities
*Identify, develop and secure new business opportunities across:
*Engineering projects and installations
*Planned maintenance contracts
*Service and reactive works
*Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers, suppliers and subcontractors.
*Respond to technical enquiries, including system design and equipment selection.
*Prepare and submit accurate quotations and supporting documentation.
*Manage projects from enquiry to completion, ensuring quality, profitability and customer satisfaction.
*Procure equipment, services and subcontractors in a cost-effective manner.
*Coordinate engineering teams and subcontractors to ensure efficient project delivery.
*Monitor project performance and provide regular activity and management reports.
*Ensure compliance with company management systems, procedures and values.
*Actively promote training, development and a strong team culture.
*Ensure compliance with company Health & Safety policies.
*Prepare and implement site safety files, risk assessments and method statements.
*Promote safe working practices and continuous improvement in health, safety and environmental performance.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
*Engineering background with strong technical capability.
*Mechanical, electrical, gas or heating qualifications advantageous.
*Experience within a contracting or engineering environment.
*Commercially aware with proven customer-facing experience.
*Competent user of IT systems (Mac & PC), including Word and Excel.
*Good understanding of health, safety and environmental standards.
*Full, clean UK driving licence.
Personal Attributes
*Professional, motivated and well presented.
*Proactive, flexible and self-driven.
*Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
*Excellent organisational and time management ability.
*Able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
*Takes ownership and accountability for high-quality project outcomes.
