Job Description:
Full job description Aurora Peartree is opening its doors in Autumn 2026, and we’re looking for a number of dedicated Teaching Assistants to help make this vision a reality. This is a rare opportunity to be part of something truly transformative.
Aurora Peartree will be a nurturing, inclusive and ambitious school for children and young people aged 5–19 with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. With a capacity of 120 students, our vision is to create a safe, enriching and aspirational environment where every learner can thrive.
The role:
As a Teaching Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in supporting pupils’ learning and wellbeing, ensuring every child has the best opportunity to reach their full potential. You’ll work closely with the Class Teacher and wider team to create a caring, safe and stimulating environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
*Supporting pupils with learning activities and reinforcing concepts taught by the teacher.
*Promoting positive behaviour and adapting responses to meet individual needs.
*Assisting with personal care, including hygiene, dressing and eating when required.
*Encouraging independence and personal development.
*Providing feedback on pupil progress, behaviour and wellbeing.
*Helping prepare resources and contribute to lesson planning and evaluation.

About You:
We’re looking for someone with:
Essential Qualifications
*GCSE Maths and English (minimum Functional Skills Level 2).
*Level 2 Award in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (or willingness to work towards).
Essential Skills & Experience
*Commitment to putting the child first and treating them as an individual.
*Ability to promote independence and positive behaviour.
*Good communication and interpersonal skills.
*Competent ICT skills and ability to work as part of a team.
Desirable
*Previous experience in a SEND setting.
*Understanding of safeguarding principles and child protection procedures.
