The Opportunity
As a Senior Accountant, you’ll become a key member of a collaborative and supportive team, working alongside Managers and Directors to deliver an exceptional service to a diverse portfolio of owner-managed businesses.
This is a varied position offering a blend of accounts production, tax work, client advisory responsibilities and team leadership. You’ll gain exposure to a wide range of industries and work directly with business owners to help them achieve their goals.
The successful Senior Accountant will enjoy significant client contact and the opportunity to develop broader commercial and advisory skills beyond traditional compliance work.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Managing a varied portfolio of owner-managed business clients
* Preparing and reviewing year-end statutory accounts
* Calculating corporation tax and personal tax liabilities
* Identifying tax planning opportunities and providing practical recommendations
* Building strong, long-term relationships with clients and acting as a trusted adviser
* Supporting clients with accounting, financial and business-related queries
* Working closely with Managers and Directors to deliver a high-quality service
* Collaborating with tax, audit and advisory teams to provide joined-up client solutions
* Reviewing work prepared by junior team members
* Coaching, mentoring and developing trainee accountants
* Identifying opportunities to improve client processes and add value through advisory support
About You
We’re keen to speak with practice-trained accountants who are looking to continue developing their careers within a progressive and people-focused environment.
You’ll ideally have:
* ACA or ACCA qualification
* Previous experience working within an accountancy practice
* Experience managing a portfolio of clients
* Strong accounts preparation and tax knowledge
* Experience working with owner-managed businesses
* Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
* A commercial mindset and desire to deliver outstanding client service
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
* The ability to support and mentor junior colleagues
Experience using CCH software would be advantageous but is not essential.
