Job Description:
Full job descriptionFinancial Planner — Fully Remote
Salary + bonus + share options | Home-based (UK)
Burton Recruitment is working with a growing, independent wealth and pensions advisory business on the appointment of an experienced Financial Planner. This is a genuinely different proposition: a real ownership stake, a grown-up culture, and the chance to be part of building something rather than maintaining it.
The firm
A privately owned, independent IFA in active growth mode. Fully remote, cloud-based, and built around a simple idea: recruit excellent advisers, give them everything they need to look after their clients properly, and share the value they help create. No politics, no rigid hierarchy, no micromanagement. The leadership team has built and exited businesses before, and they’re doing it again with a clearer playbook this time.
The role
You’ll bring your existing client bank across and continue to look after them as part of a collaborative team of like-minded advisers. You’ll have full back-office, paraplanning, and administrative support, with all advice running through clean, established templates so you can focus on your clients rather than the process around them.
What you’ll bring
This role is suited to an established adviser with a transferable client base. You will need:
*A portable client bank generating circa £200,000 in recurring annual revenue. This is the threshold for the role, and is essential.
*A clean regulatory record and either Level 4 Diploma (minimum) or Chartered status
*A holistic, long-term approach to client relationships
*The self-discipline to thrive in a remote, autonomous environment
*A genuine appetite to be part of growing a business, not just servicing a desk
Comfortable navigating restrictive covenants and transition periods is helpful — the firm has robust processes in place, takes independent legal advice on every recruit’s contract, and supports advisers through the move properly.
The package
This is where the proposition differs from most:
*Competitive base salary, typically around one-third of your ongoing revenue
*50% bonus on initial fees, paid the month after receipt
*Share options in the business, on the same terms as every other adviser and the founders - these are designed to deliver a meaningful capital event in the coming years
*Private medical insurance, income protection, and death in service
*Matched pension contribution
*All equipment provided
The share option scheme is the heart of this. The firm is on a defined growth journey towards a future sale, and every adviser shares in the value created. This is not a role for someone looking for a comfortable landing pad. It’s a role for someone who wants real skin in the game and is prepared to invest a few years in building something genuinely valuable.
The culture
Grown-up, trust-based, and refreshingly relaxed. Holidays, working hours, and how you organise your week are largely up to you, provided your clients are looked after and your numbers stack up. The firm does not micromanage and has no interest in starting. What they do want are self-starters who care about doing right by their clients and want to be on the journey of building the business.
The team meets in person occasionally for collaboration and connection, but day to day this is a fully remote, autonomous role.
Location
Home-based, open to candidates across the UK.
