Robert Walters is delighted to be partnering with a well-established and growing organisation in Milton Keynes to recruit a Credit Controller. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced credit professional to play a key role in managing cash flow, reducing aged debt, and supporting the wider finance team. Working within a collaborative and supportive environment, you will be responsible for maintaining strong customer relationships while ensuring outstanding balances are collected efficiently and professionally.


Key Responsibilities
*Assess and approve credit applications for new and existing customers.
*Set up and maintain customer accounts within NetSuite.
*Review and manage customer credit limits based on risk assessments and available credit insurance.
*Monitor customer creditworthiness using external credit reference tools.
*Proactively collect outstanding invoices and ensure payments are received within agreed terms.
*Manage aged debt and follow up overdue accounts via telephone, email, and written correspondence.
*Negotiate payment arrangements where appropriate.
*Investigate and resolve invoice queries and payment disputes.
*Work closely with Quantity Surveyors, Commercial Teams and Contract Managers to resolve outstanding issues.
*Escalate high-risk accounts and recommend appropriate action where necessary.
*Provide regular reporting and updates on debtor performance and financial risk.


About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
*Previous experience in Credit Control or Accounts Receivable within a commercial environment.
*Experience using ERP systems, ideally NetSuite.
*Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
*Excellent negotiation and problem-solving abilities.
*A proactive approach to debt collection and account management.
*Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
*The ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments.
*A good understanding of credit risk assessment and customer account management.
