Academics are recruiting Primary Support Assistants to work across a range of friendly and inclusive primary schools throughout Rotherham on a temporary, ongoing basis.
This role offers flexibility, variety, and the chance to gain valuable experience supporting children across different year groups and learning environments.
Position: Primary Support Assistant
Location: Rotherham, South Yorkshire
Contract: Temporary, flexible ongoing
Pay: £92.56 - £95 per day (paid via PAYE - no umbrella company fees)
Start Date: ASAP or a start date that suits you
About the Role
As a Primary Support Assistant in Rotherham, you will play an important role in helping pupils access learning and participate fully within the classroom.
You may support whole-class learning, small intervention groups, or provide one-to-one support where required, helping to create a positive and inclusive environment where children can thrive.
This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with children and are looking for flexible opportunities within education.
Key Responsibilities
*Support teaching and learning across primary classrooms
* Deliver small group and intervention support where required
* Assist pupils with classroom activities and learning tasks
* Encourage confidence, independence and positive behaviour
* Support children’s emotional wellbeing and engagement
* Work collaboratively with teachers and school staff
* Maintain safeguarding standards and school procedures
Candidate Requirements
*Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable)
* Experience supporting children within schools, nurseries or childcare settings
* Friendly, patient and adaptable approach
* Good communication and interpersonal skills
* Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
