An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Patent Administrator/IP Paralegal to join the firm’s growing support team. Working closely with Patent Attorneys and Technical Assistants, you will play a key role in the management of UK, European and international patent portfolios, ensuring deadlines are met and clients receive an exceptional level of service. This position offers a varied workload, exposure to high-quality matters and genuine long-term career prospects.
Key Responsibilities
*Providing administrative and case management support to Patent Attorneys and Technical Assistants
*Managing IP records and monitoring official, client and internal deadlines
*Preparing and checking documentation for UK, European and international patent filings
*Drafting standard correspondence and preparing client reporting letters
*Liaising with overseas associates and official bodies
*Handling recordals including assignments, mergers and licences
*Preparing patent portfolio reports and status updates
*Managing billing processes and monitoring outstanding costs
*Using client-specific systems to receive instructions, report progress and submit invoices
*Supporting the wider team with the smooth running of client portfolios
Requirements
*Previous experience within Patent Administration or an IP Paralegal position
*CIPA Patent Administrators Certificate would be advantageous, although not essential
*Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
*High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
*Strong written and verbal communication skills
*Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment
*Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
*A proactive, flexible and positive approach to work
*A minimum of two A Levels (or equivalent), with a degree being beneficial
