Job Description:
Full job descriptionI’m currently working with a leading international law firm looking to appoint a Senior Associate to join its highly regarded Professional & Commercial Risk team in Leeds.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Professional Indemnity lawyer seeking high-quality, intellectually challenging work, combined with a genuinely flexible and collaborative working environment. The firm has a strong reputation in the insurance sector and offers access to an impressive and diverse client base, alongside clear opportunities for progression and career development.
The Role
As a Senior Associate, you will play a key role in the continued growth and success of the team, working closely with colleagues across the UK and internationally.
You will act for major insurers and insured professionals across a broad range of sectors, handling the full spectrum of professional indemnity matters—from policy coverage and advisory work through to complex, litigated negligence claims.
This is a varied and client-facing role, offering the opportunity to take ownership of your own caseload while also supporting partners on more complex matters.
Your responsibilities will include:
*Managing a mixed caseload of professional negligence claims involving a wide range of professionals
*Handling both pre-action and litigated matters
*Providing strategic, commercial and technical advice to insurer clients
*Building and maintaining strong client relationships through regular interaction
*Supporting partners on high-value and complex claims
*Supervising and mentoring junior fee earners
*Instructing and working closely with experts and counsel
*Advising on and engaging in alternative dispute resolution, including mediation
To be considered for this opportunity, you will:
*Be a qualified solicitor with circa 5+ years’ PQE in Professional Indemnity or related insurance litigation work
*Have strong technical expertise and experience managing complex claims
The Firm
This is a globally recognised legal business with a strong presence in the insurance sector and a reputation for delivering high-quality, commercially focused advice.
The firm acts for a wide range of clients, including leading insurers, major corporates, and public sector bodies. Its international reach and collaborative culture mean you will have access to a broad and interesting mix of work, often involving cross-border elements.
Despite its scale, the firm maintains a supportive and inclusive culture, where individuals are encouraged to take ownership of their careers and make a tangible impact.
Working Environment & Benefits
*Leeds-based role with highly flexible hybrid working
*A genuine commitment to work-life balance and agile working arrangements
*High-quality, complex work with leading insurer clients
*Clear progression opportunities within a growing team
*Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package
*Ongoing training and development tailored to your career goals
*Inclusive and collaborative team culture
