The Company My client is an established manufacturing business based in Nottingham with a strong operational footprint and ambitious growth plans. They are looking to appoint a Finance Manager to lead the day-to-day finance function and act as a key business partner to the senior leadership team.
The Role Reporting directly to the Finance Director, the Finance Manager will take ownership of the monthly reporting cycle, manage a small finance team, and play an active role in commercial and strategic decision-making. This is a broad, hands-on role — not a pure reporting position. You will be expected to challenge the business, drive margin improvement, and support the FD on key projects.
Key Responsibilities
*Leading the full management accounts and financial reporting cycle
*Managing and developing a small finance team, including day-to-day oversight and performance
*Owning the budgeting, forecasting, and business planning process
*Driving margin improvement through commercial analysis and challenge
*Delivering insightful financial analysis to support operational and strategic decisions
*Supporting the FD on strategic projects, costing exercises, and capex appraisals
*Liaising with external auditors and managing the year-end process
*Maintaining robust financial controls and compliance across the business
Skills & Experience Required
*Qualified accountant — CIMA, ACCA, or ACA
*Significant experience in a management accounts or finance business partnering role
*Previous people management experience — you will have direct reports
*Manufacturing, industrial, or FMCG background strongly preferred
*Confident presenting financial information to senior and non-finance stakeholders
*Strong commercial acumen with the ability to challenge and influence at a senior level
*Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems
